Walk to Save Some Money

This tip is for London in particular, consider walking to your destination instead of taking public transportation. London is a big city and has plenty of options for inexpensive transportation but sometimes it is just nicer to walk. I am speaking particularly of the Tube, while it is fast and inexpensive it is almost entirely underground in London. You miss so many of the sites traveling completely underground.

The Tube maps show the location of stations slightly skewed some are actually quite close together and you can easily walk between them. While other stations like Bank where there are many connections are so large that you might not want to walk. Either way, walking the streets of London allows you to really see the city. Who knows what gems you might uncover on a stroll.

If you get a bit lost don’t panic, have a good pocket map with you and you can always politely ask a passerby for directions to where you are going. So make some time to walk above ground while you are in London, because there is a lot to miss if you stay underground the entire time.
