Stock up on Camera Memory Cards and Batteries

One mistake we made  a few years ago was thinking that if we can out of memory card space on our digital cameras, we could just buy some while in Britain. This was an expensive mistake.

We recommend stocking up on memory cards at home before you depart for Britain. They’re cheap these days – buy more than you think you need so you’re not afraid to take as many pictures as your heart desires. We travel with a half a dozen 4gb memory cards and we haven’t run out of space yet.

Also – depending on the make and model of your camera – stock up on plenty of batteries or a spare rechargeable battery. One of our previous cameras used rechargeable batteries and we only had one with us in Britain and we ran out of a charge in the middle of sightseeing. A replacement in Britain was eyewateringly expensive.

So stock up on spare batteries and memory cards – that’s one thing you don’t want to buy while traveling.
